If Mariners play great 2nd half ball do they have a shot for playoffs? Didn't the format change where they added two teams for each league?
Well right now we are 9.5 games out of the 2nd wild card spot, our record is 47-52, the teams ahead of us are the Indians (52-47), Yankees (52-47), Rangers (55-44), Orioles (57-43), and at the top wild card spot the Rays (59-41).
Quite an uphill climb. I'm not saying it's impossible but the odds are stacked against us. Especially looking at our schedule. We have a road trip comin' up against the Red Sox and Orioles, now if we can 4-2 or better on that trip I may wear my Mariners hat ever day haha but mid-september is going to be rough.. a 10 game road trip that consists of the Cardinals, Tigers, and Angels.

Looks unlikely. Also, just heard Tex picked up a good starting pitcher from the Cubs in Garza.
In past years, didn't they only have 1 wild card?
"fat ass no face, damn what a waste. Said she likes it in her mouth, lil momma got taste."

I'm loving this squad. Really hope they can keep it up and go into 2014 as real contenders to win the AL West.
The core of the King,Miller, Franklin, Seager, Morales, Saunders, and the AAA pitcher that's name escapes me looks pretty bright going forward.
Taiwan Walker, and he looks like an ace in the making!
The young core you mentioned can make things happen! Don't forget about Zunino, who looks pretty solid and Smoak, who is finally looking like a big league hitter. Maybe Ackley and Montero get in gear too!
Montero is a joke. Pineda, who we traded to get him, does better for the Yankees and he's been injured since pretty much the trade. I knew Montero was going to be bad, but everyone laughed at me.
I win.
Smoak does look like a MLB hitter now. I knew he would. Ackley has the rest of the year to prove himself or I think we should DFA him. He's bad.
